Storytell Chrome extension no longer runs automatically

Remember when our Chrome extension used to run automatically? Well, we've waved our magic wand and made that a thing of the past based on user feedback. Our Chrome extension will only spring into action when it's explicitly in the open state. That means no more unexpected pop-up summaries or a sudden flood of reports on your dashboard.

We've ensured that when the extension is hidden, it’s not in use, giving you complete control over when it’s actively summarizing a URL. This change is about making your Storytell experience more user-friendly and tailored to your needs.

First of all congradulations for what you did and good luck for what you will do.

I am not using web app regularly or personally but I am trying it sometimes to help you out as a user.

Overall, web app and Chrome extension are great. They prove the skills and capacity of development team.

If you give me test cases time to time, I would be glad to test them for you.

That's said:

- We might have different approaches to some matters. That's fine. My role here to give you feedback. I am not employee so I can play 'bad cop'! So, I would like to press on some points even if you don't like them.

1- Run button: Put a 'Run' button on Chrome extension. ( I heard what you said as an alternative to 'run button' but I am not convinced as user. )

2- Login requirement: Make 'Run button' available and work without login.

3- Privacy: Add a link or document etc on both web app and Chrome: Make it clear:

- Which data you collect and

- What you do with collected data

- Who has and can have access to collected data

I hear you re: wanting to use the Chrome extension without logging in and a really easy way to use the Chrome extension, such as a "run" button.
