What is voice?
Whenever you're creating content -- for yourself or for others -- you need to understand "who" is telling the story. Because once you know who is telling the story, this will change how it's told. In content creation, this is known as "voice." And a solid starting point is to define the voice For instance, Nike's brand voice is completely different from Apple's.
How to create your voice doc
What are the ingredients to creating your own voice doc? Watch the video above and follow these steps:
1. Collect content from the company or individual, which you'll upload to Storytell
2. Create a tag for this body of content
3. Chat with the tag. Use this prompt to create your voice document:
A "voice" document is a way to describe the writing style based on all the content here. When creating a "voice" document, use the concept of "over statements". An "over statement" is one good thing over another good thing. For example, if the content is humorous, the over statement might be "Humorous over Intellectual".
Create a "voice" document using "over statements" in a Markdown table, with each row being a different "over statement" in bold in the first column, followed by a 100-word summary detailing why that over statement was chosen in the second column. In the third column, give an example from the body of work to support the conclusion in column one.
4. Once you've created the voice document, use this prompt to put your voice doc to use:
This is the [name of individual or company] voice: [insert voice doc]. Next you will rewrite the content I share in the "[name of individual or company] voice". Respond with "I am ready to re-write in the [name of individual or company] voice."
5. Once it responds with "I am ready," drop in content you want rewritten and hit enter. Let the magic begin!
